About Dr Carruthers
Dr Kelly Carruthers (BA Hons (Psych) MBBS, FRACP) completed her medical training at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2008.
She has had a strong interest in Endocrinology since her junior doctor trainingat The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital. She completed her specialist training in the field of endocrinology at the RBWH and Nambour General Hospital.
Dr Carruthers looks after patients with a range of endocrine conditions and is committed to providing up-to-date care.
As a Type 1 Diabetic herself, Dr Carruthers is uniquely experienced in the management of Type 1 Diabetes, including insulin pump therapy and is passionate about improving the health of young Queenslanders.
In addition to her private practice at North Lakes, Dr Carruthers works as an Endocrinologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and Chermside Community Health Centre.
Referring Doctors Note: With apologies, Dr Carruthers is currently not accepting new referrals (as of March 2021). Dr Carruthers will need to review the referral before your patient is booked in, to ensure appropriate appointment allocation for urgent patients.

Patient Information
You will require a referral prior to any appointments being booked. Note: Dr Carruthers is not accepting new referrals as of March 2021 Your referral will often have been sent directly to Dr Carruthers by your GP otherwise please send the referral to the rooms so that your appointment can be prioritized.
At your consultation, a full history will be taken, then a physical examination and assessment of any blood tests or scans. Bring any relevant imaging and investigations with you to your appointment. Initial appointments can take up to one hour depending on the complexity of the your medical history.
You will be provided with information about out of pocket costs when making your appointment. Payment for the consultation is on the day of the appointment.
